    CPL 2023 (Caribbean Premier League) is currently underway in the West Indies. Six teams, namely St. Lucia Kings, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Barbados Royals, Trinbago Knight Riders, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs, are playing in this competition.

    As the names of the three names suggest, Trinbago Knight Riders, Barbados Royals and St. Lucia Kings are owned by Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings of IPL. The teams also have a lot of IPL stars in their respective squads. While some IPL stars have impressed in Caribbean, the following five players have flopped in the league so far.

    1. Bhanuka Rajapaksa could not get going in CPL 2023

    Punjab Kings’ hard-hitting wicket-keeper batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa is a member of the St. Lucia Kings team in CPL. Rajapaksa played one match for St. Lucia, where he scored 15 runs off 21 balls at a strike rate of 71.42.

    2. Ambati Rayudu could not impress much in CPL 2023

    Former Indian wicketkeeper Ambati Rayudu signed up with the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots as a marquee player for CPL. Rayudu played four matches, scoring 47 runs. He signed a contract for only four games.

    3. Finn Allen

    Royal Challengers Bangalore’s backup opener Finn Allen has been a regular starter for the Jamaica Tallawahs in this competition. Allen has played five matches, where he has managed 72 runs at an average of less than 20.

    4. Obed McCoy

    Rajasthan Royals’ left-arm pacer Obed McCoy leads the pace attack of the Barbados Royals team in CPL. McCoy has played six matches for BR, where he has scalped one wicket at an average of 239.

    5. Odean Smith

    Gujarat Titans’ pace-bowling all-rounder Odean Smith has had a quiet CPL season with the Guyana Amazon Warriors so far. Smith has played three matches, where he has scored five runs and picked up four wickets. His economy rate has been more than seven.
