India are one of the strongest teams in world cricket at the moment. It is the dream of every overseas player to play a match against the Indian cricket team and if possible in front of a jam-packed stadium in India. However, not every cricketer has been able to fulfill that dream.
Other strong teams like Australia, South Africa and England play against the Men in Blue regularly, but the lower-ranked teams, especially the non-Test playing nations get to play against the Men in Blue only at the multi-nation tournaments. There are some teams against whom the Men in Blue have played in an ODI but never played a T20I. Here’s a list of those five nations.
1. India will play their first T20I against Hong Kong today
The Men in Blue have a 2-0 win-loss record in ODIs against Hong Kong. The two teams battled in the 2008 and 2018 Asia Cup ODI tournaments. Tonight, they will play their first T20I against each other in Dubai.
2. India are yet to play in a T20I against Netherlands
The Dutch team battled the Indian side at the 2011 Cricket World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. However, they are yet to challenge the Men in Blue in a T20I match.
3. India will never play a T20I against East Africa
East Africa was the first team that India defeated in an ODI World Cup match. However, the team is no longer a member of the ICC now, which is why a T20I between these two teams will never happen.
4. Kenya
Kenya registered two ODI wins against the Men in Blue, but they have disappeared from world cricket now. The Kenyan side has never played a T20I against the Men in Blue yet.
5. Bermuda
Bermuda played an ODI against the Men in Blue during the 2007 ODI World Cup. Since then, they have not appeared at a mjor T20I event and have never played any matches against the Men in Blue.
