Pakistan players were among the star attractions at MLC 2023. The inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket will end soon in the United States of America. This league was launched with the aim of giving cricket more popularity in the North American nation.
Six teams, namely MI New York, Texas Super Kings, Seattle Orcas, Washington Freedom, Los Angeles Knight Riders and San Francisco Unicorns participated in the tournament. Seattle Orcas and MI New York have made it to the finals. While the likes of Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan performed well in MLC 2023, here’s a list of five Pakistan players who flopped.
1. Former Pakistan player Saif Badar flopped in MLC 2023
Saif Badar played one match for the Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket. He scored 10 runs off nine balls in that game at a strike rate of 111.11.
2. Former Pakistan pacer Ehsan Adil flopped in MLC 2023
Ehsan Adil retired from Pakistan cricket earlier this year and moved to the United States. He made his MLC debut for MI New York. While MI have picked him in all seven matches so far, he has managed only three wickets at an average of 50.
3. Hammad Azam
Former Pakistan all-rounder Hammad Azam also plays for the MI New York team. Hammad has scored only 25 runs in five matches. He has an average of 8.33 and a strike rate of less than 70 in the tournament.
4. Zia-ul-Haq
Zia-ul-Haq was a last-minute addition to the Texas Super Kings team. The former Pakistan pacer bagged one wicket in two matches at a bowling average of 40.
5. Mukhtar Ahmed
Opening batter Mukhtar Ahmed has scored only 78 runs in six matches for the Washington Freedom team. His average has been just 13 in MLC 2023, while his strike rate is in the range of 105.
