Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo will be seen in a new role at this year’s Indian Premier League season. Four-time champions Chennai Super Kings have roped him in as their new bowling coach for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Bravo has retired from the IPL, but he played in Abu Dhabi T10, Caribbean Premier League and The Men’s Hundred earlier this year. He shared the dressing room with many T20 stars, and he could suggest the following five names to the Chennai Super Kings team management for IPL 2023.
1. Dwayne Bravo’s CPL teammate – Sheldon Cottrell
Sheldon Cottrell has not received any interest from IPL teams of late. He is a talented left-arm fast bowler, who took five wickets in five innings of CPL 2022. If Chennai manage to snap him up at base price, he would be a good addition to the squad.
2. Dwayne Bravo’s T10 teammate – Tom Banton
Bravo led the Delhi Bulls team in this year’s Abu Dhabi T10 League. Tim David was the most impressive player of the team, but MI have retained him. The next name was Tom Banton, who aggregated 190 runs in just seven matches at a strike rate of 175.92.
3. Wayne Parnell
Bravo played with Wayne Parnell for the Northern Superchargers in Men’s Hundred 2022. Parnell played only two games, but he picked up four wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.15.
4. Adil Rashid
Adil Rashid also played with Dwayne Bravo in Men’s Hundred 2022. Bravo and Rashid were the joint highest wicket-takers of their team. Both bowlers took eight wickets each.
5. Dwayne Bravo’s Hundred teammate – Adam Lyth
One more name from the Northern Superchargers to feature on this list is Adam Lyth. He scored 299 runs in eight innings at a magnificent strike rate of more than 175 for the Superchargers in Men’s Hundred 2022.
