IPL 2024 Auction is scheduled to happen in Dubai on December 19. It will be a mini auction, with 77 slots open to be filled in the teams. There are only 30 foreign spots, meaning that a lot of players will go unsold at the auction. As per a report by Cricbuzz, 1,166 players have registered for the auction.
The IPL organizers allow the players to pick their own base price. There are many categories, with the second-highest category being that of 1.5 crore. Here are five players from that category, who might go unsold at the IPL 2024 Auction.
1. Chris Lynn might go unsold at IPL 2024 Auction
Australian opener Chris Lynn has set his base price to 1.5 crore. Lynn has not played in the league since 2021. Considering that almost every team has a good opening pair, Lynn might go unsold.
2. Kane Richardson might go unsold at IPL 2024 Auction
Another Aussie to feature on the list is the fast bowler Kane Richardson. Ever since Richardson left IPL 2021 early and complained about the bubble, no team has shown interest in him. He might never play in IPL again.
3. Tymal Mills
Tymal Mills was among the most expensive picks at IPL 2017 Auction, but the left-arm fast bowler is no longer a threat that he was. At 1.5 crore, Mills may not find any buyers at the mini auction.
4. Chris Jordan
Former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Chris Jordan has leaked runs at a hammering rate in death overs in recent matches. Jordan is unlikely to fetch a deal, especially at 1.5 crore base price.
5. Colin Munro
New Zealand all-rounder Colin Munro is past his prime now. He has been playing in ‘B’ leagues, but at 1.5 crore base price, not a single IPL franchise may bid for his services.
