Sunrisers Hyderabad have had three disappointing IPL seasons on a trot. After qualifying for the playoffs in every season from 2016 to 2020, Hyderabad could not finish in Top 4 in 2021, 2022 and 2023. SRH must now plan a good strategy for the IPL 2024 Auction.
The Hyderabad-based franchise have released Harry Brook, Adil Rashid, Akeal Hosein, Karthik Tyagi, Vivrant Sharma, Mayank Dagar and Samarth Vyas ahead of the auction. They have traded in Shahbaz Ahmed from RCB. Here are five other players SRH should target at IPL 2024 Auction.
1. SRH should target Rovman Powell at IPL 2024 Auction
Hyderabad need a solid finisher in the team. Abdul Samad is a little inexperienced. A player like Rovman Powell, who has been doing well for West Indies, can be a great choice for the role.
2. SRH should target Harry Brook at IPL 2024 Auction
Hyderabad have released Harry Brook but it is mostly because of his hefty price tag of 13.25 crore. Perhaps, Hyderabad can try buying him for a cheaper amount because he is extremely talented.
3. Akeal Hosein
While SRH have Shahbaz Ahmed in their squad now, they should consider bidding for West Indies all-rounder Akeal Hosein also. Hosein can bowl well in powerplay and also contribute in the batting department.
4. Umesh Yadav
SRH have freed up an Indian pace bowler’s spot in their team by releasing Kartik Tyagi. They need some experience in the squad, and a player like Umesh Yadav can solve problems for the Orange Army.
5. Sourav Chauhan
Gujarat’s wicketkeeper Sourav Chauhan recently came into the limelight for scoring the fastest half-century. SRH need a gun opener for IPL 2024, and the uncapped player can be a good option.
