Whenever there is a mega-auction, such possibilities start lurking even more and with the extended purse granted by BCCI, there are high possibilities that quite a few players might cross the INR 20 crore mark. Here are five players who can actually bag more than INR 20 crore in the upcoming IPL mega-auction.
1. Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc was released by KKR which was quite a shocking decision, especially considering the kind of match-winning performances that he knitted over the last year. However, one of the key reasons why Starc was released was because of his overwhelming price of INR 24 crore. However, the sheer quality that Starc brings to the platter, it won’t be surprising to see him earn such a big sum again.
2. Jonny Bairstow
Jonny Bairstow is a phenomenal striker of the ball and was released by Punjab Kings. However, given the fact that Bairstow has struck the auction market, there will be a massive tug of war for the hard-hitting English wicket-keeper. He can flip the game in a flash without even one knowing the sheer quality of damage that has been done.
3. Jos Buttler
Another English hard-hitter, Jos Buttler is a game-changer and more importantly a match-winner. Buttler can deliver in the crunchiest of situations and can flip the tide in stunning fashion. With Rajasthan Royals letting go of the big man, the franchises may go for a full-blown war for the big man hailing all the way from England.
4. Phil Salt
Another English wicket-keeper showed his class in the last season as he donned the threads of KKR. He was in stunning form and would often run away with the games. He has shown it before and also continues to validate his flair in the shortest format of the game until now that the day on which he fires, bowlers might have to find a way to be under shelter.
5. Trent Boult
The Kiwi bowler is an absolute menace and has proven his worth for the Rajasthan Royals. Surprisingly, RR letting him go have opened up the spectrum for the other franchises to try and snap him in. The left-arm seamer can move the ball significantly and is an excellent option with the new ball in his hands and also the death overs.
