T20 World Cup 2022 will begin tomorrow with a clash between former champions Sri Lanka and one of the most impressive teams from the previous edition, Namibia. There are 16 teams in the tournament, and all of them announced their squads well in advance for the competition.

However, in the gap between the squad announcement and the first match of the mega event, some players got injured. The injuries ruled them out of the T20 World Cup 2022, forcing their respective boards to name a last-minute replacement. Here’s a list of five such players who have landed in Australia as replacements.

    1. Mohammad Shami will return in T20 World Cup 2022

Mohammad Shami shockingly did not get a single T20I game after the T20 World Cup 2021. But now, he is back in the Indian squad as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. Shami is likely to play in the first match against Pakistan.

    3. Shardul Thakur might play in T20 World Cup 2022

Fast-bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur received a place in the list of reserve players for India after Deepak Chahar’s injury. Thakur has played only one T20I for India after last year’s T20 WC.

    4. Alex Hales

Swashbuckling opener Alex Hales earned a place in the English T20 World Cup squad after Jonny Bairstow suffered an injury. Hales has a lot of experience of playing in Australia.

    5. Shamarh Brooks

While the aforementioned names have come into the squads or list of reserve players because of injury to another player, Shamarh Brooks made it to the West Indies squad after Shimron Hetmyer missed his flight to Australia.
