IPL 2024 Auction will happen on December 19, just three weeks before the auction, the deadline for the player submission has closed. All the players who are interested in becoming a part of the Indian Premier League for the 2024 season have submitted their forms along with the prices.
As per a report by Cricbuzz, 1,166 players have been registered for the player auction. Now, all the franchises will have to select the players they want to be auctioned. Some of the players may not make it to the auction pool or go unsold because of high base price. Here are five such names.
1. Kedar Jadhav might go unsold at IPL 2024 Auction
Veteran Indian all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has surprisingly set his base price at INR 2 crore. Jadhav, who joined RCB as a replacement last season, may go unsold in IPL 2024.
2. Marchant de Lange might go unsold at IPL 2024 Auction
South African fast bowler Marchant de Lange has not played in recent IPL seasons. Still, the former MI and KKR player has set his base price to 1.5 crore for this year’s auction.
3. Chris Lynn
Chris Lynn is a destructive opener, but he has passed his prime now. Not many teams have shown interest in the Australian batter’s services. With 1.5 crore base price, Lynn will likely go unsold.
4. Ben Duckett
England batter Ben Duckett does not have any experience of playing in IPL. He has not played much in Indian conditions as well. No IPL team may bid INR 2 crore for his services.
5. Jamie Overton
Like Ben Duckett, his compatriot Jamie Overton does not have IPL experience or the knowledge of what to do when playing on Indian pitches. Thus, he may go unsold in the 2 crore category.
