PSL 2024 began last Saturday in Lahore with a contest between two-time defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Shadab Khan’s Islamabad United. The Islamabad-based franchise cruised to an eight-wicket victory, thanks to a brilliant half-century from their captain Shadab.
Speaking of Pakistan Super League 2024, there are four other franchises in this competition, namely Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings. 1. David Willey is playing in PSL 2024
David Willey announced retirement after the 2023 ODI World Cup. The English all-rounder is now playing for the Multan Sultans team under Mohammad Rizwan’s captaincy in Pakistan Super League.
2. Alex Hales is playing in PSL 2024
Another top English name to feature in the list is Alex Hales. Known for providing explosive starts at the top of the order, Hales is a member of the Islamabad United team in PSL this season.
3. Shamar Joseph
West Indies’ new fast bowler Shamar Joseph gained enormous popularity after he helped his team beat Australia in the Gabba Test. Joseph is playing for Peshawar Zalmi under Babar Azam’s leadership.
4. Tim Seifert
New Zealand’s explosive wicketkeeper Tim Seifert represents the Karachi Kings team in PSL 9. Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood is the skipper of the Kings this season.
5. Kieron Pollard
Even after retiring from IPL and international cricket a long time ago, Kieron Pollard continues to play in other T20 leagues. The Mumbai Indians batting coach is a part of the Karachi Kings team in the ongoing PSL season.
