Bangladesh Premier League 2024 has started in Dhaka. It will be a seven-team franchise tournament, with the teams being Comilla Victorians, Rangpur Riders, Fortune Barishal, Chattogram Challengers, Durdanto Dhaka, Syhlet Strikers and Khulna Tigers.
Like the IPL, the top four teams will advance to the playoffs after all sides play against each other twice in the league stage. The Bangladesh Premier League 2024 will take place in three venues, namely Dhaka, Sylhet and Chattogram. Here are five popular foreign players who are playing in BPL 2024:
1. Moeen Ali will play for Comilla Victorians in Bangladesh Premier League 2024
England all-rounder Moeen Ali is a member of the Comilla Victorians squad. The spin-bowling all-rounder is currently playing for Joburg Super Kings in SA20, but he will fly to Bangladesh in the coming days.
2. Andre Russell will play for Comilla Victorians in Bangladesh Premier League 2024
Caribbean all-rounder Andre Russell is in the UAE, playing for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in International League T20. He also has a contract with the Comilla Victorians in BPL 2024.
3. Mohammad Rizwan
Pakistan’s T20I vice-captain Mohammad Rizwan became extremely popular after he helped the Men in Green beat India in ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Rizwan will play for the Comilla Victorians in BPL 2024.
4. Babar Azam
Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has signed with the Rangpur Riders in BPL 2024. Azam will play alongside Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan for this franchise.
5. Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran is one of the rare cricketers, who has a contract in all three leagues happening right now, namely ILT20, BPL and SA20. Pooran is a part of the Rangpur Riders team in BPL 2024.
