IPL Auction 2021 happened before the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. There were some big surprises at the auction as the teams spent big on some lesser-known overseas stars. Speaking of IPL, even Pakistan Super League (PSL) features star foreign players from across the world. Recently, Multan Sultans won PSL 2021.

PSL 2021’s second stage recently happened in the United Arab Emirates. The first phase had taken place in Pakistan. There were some overseas players who performed superbly in PSL 2021, but they don’t have IPL contracts at the moment. In this listicle today, we will look at five batting stars who performed well in PSL 2021 but went unsold in IPL Auction 2021.

4. Colin Munro

Colin Munro is a Kiwi all-rounder who played seven matches for the Islamabad United team in the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League. Munro is famous for his big-hitting abilities and the capability to score runs quickly.

The left-handed batsman aggregated 285 runs in seven games for Islamabad, with his highest score being 90*. His strike rate was 169.64. Interestingly, Munro had not got a buyer in the 2021 IPL Auction.

3. Tim David

Singapore-born player Tim David grabbed the headlines by performing well for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League. Before PSL 2021 resumed in the United Arab Emirates, the Lahore Qalandars signed Tim David in the replacement draft.

Although the Lahore-based franchise could not qualify for the playoffs in PSL 2021, David emerged as one of the top performers for the team. He scored 180 runs in six matches, with his average being 45. The rising star scored these runs at a strike rate of more than 165.

2. Jake Weatherald

Jake Weatherald is a top-order batsman from Australia who performed well in the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League. The left-handed batsman was a member of the Quetta Gladiators squad.

He got to play five matches for the Gladiators, where he scored 148 runs at a decent average of 29.60. Since Weatherald performed decently in the UAE, there is a chance that he may no longer remain unsold in the IPL now.

1. One of the few players with 100+ average in PSL 2021 – Ravi Bopara

English batsman Ravi Bopara has established himself as a T20 specialist. He has been playing in T20 leagues worldwide, and recently, he was a member of the Peshawar Zalmi squad in PSL 2021.

Bopara amassed 108 runs for the team in two matches at an average of 108. His highest score as 58*, while his strike rate was 128. Bopara entered IPL Auction 2021 with a base price of 50 lakhs INR, but none of the IPL franchises raised the peddle for him.
