Every year, we see a lot of talented pacers from overseas nations do well in the IPL. Here, we take a look at the list of five talented foreign pacers who could make their debut in IPL 2024.
It is almost a rule for every team to have at least one foreign pacer in the playing XI. Hence, there are a lot of backups in the squad and therefore, some players could get a chance to make their debut.
1) Dilshan Madushanka
After his brilliant show in the 2023 ODI World Cup, it was a given that he would get a chance in the IPL. He would play for the Mumbai Indians and is all set to share the new ball with Jasprit Bumrah. Madushanka can also be used as an option in the middle and the endovers of the innings.
2) Nuwan Thushara could make his debut in IPL 2024
Nuwan Thushara is one of the talented foreign pacers who could make their debut in IPL 2024. One of the best death bowlers available right now, the Sri Lankan pacer will represent Mumbai Indians. Since MI can afford at least two foreign pacers in the playing XI, we can expect Thushara to play in a lot of games.
3) Spencer Johnson
Gujarat Titans coughed up INR 10 Cr for the services of the Aussie pacer. He is a talented cricketer and could do well in the Narendra Modi Stadium. Hence, it would not be a surprise if he shares the new ball with Mohammed Shami.
4) Gus Atkinson
Gus Atkinson is also one of the talented foreign pacers who could make their debut in IPL 2024. Atkinson is most likely to be used as the backup for Mitchell Starc. If KKR struggles in the bowling department, both Atkinson and Starc could play in the playing XI. It will be a serious pace attack then.
5) Nandre Burger could also make his debut in IPL 2024
Rajasthan Royals need just one foreign pacer in the XI and Trent Boult is the obvious choice. Nandre Burger from South Africa is a very good backup to have in this regard. It won’t be a surprise if he makes his debut in the upcoming campaign.
