1. Both players made their ODI debut on 18th date
Sachin Tendulkar made his ODI debut for the Indian cricket team on December 18, 1988 against the Pakistan cricket team in Pakistan. On August 18, 2008, Virat made his ODI debut for India in Dambulla against Sri Lanka.
2. Both Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar scored their 1st Test hundred in 14th innings
Incidentally, both Virat and Sachin brought up their first Test hundreds in the 14th innings of their respective careers. Both achieved the feat against Australia in Australia.
3. Both are only Indian captains to win IPL Orange Cap
The IPL Orange Cap is the most prestigious award for any batter in league cricket. Among all players who have captained India, only Virat and Sachin have won the prize.
4. Both scored maiden Test hundred at number 6 position
Apart from the innings number and the country where they scored their first hundreds, the batting positions were also the same – number 6.
