MS Dhoni has had one of the longest careers in the IPL history. He has been a part of two franchises, namely Rising Pune Supergiant and Chennai Super Kings. Having won five championships and played in so many finals, the wicketkeeper batter has done a phenomenal job as a cricketer and a captain.
Dhoni has finished off in many matches and run-chases in style with his brilliant batting performances. The legendary wicketkeeper has been dismissed for a duck by only six bowlers in the league’s history. Here’s a list of the six names.
1. Harshal Patel dismissed MS Dhoni for a duck yesterday
Punjab Kings all-rounder Harshal Patel dismissed Dhoni for a golden duck last night. It was a match between PBKS and CSK in Dharamsala last night, and Patel rattled Dhoni’s stumps for a duck.
2. Mohit Sharma dismissed MS Dhoni for a duck in IPL 2023 Final
In the IPL 2023 Final, Dhoni had the opportunity to finish things off in style for CSK. However, GT pacer Mohit Sharma dismissed him caught out on the first ball he faced.
3. Avesh Khan dismissed MS Dhoni for a duck in IPL 2021
Three years ago, Avesh Khan was a member of the Delhi Capitals squad. In his first match of the season against CSK, Khan bowled Dhoni on the second ball he faced.
4. Harbhajan Singh
Back in 2015, Mumbai Indians spinner Harbhajan Singh dismissed Dhoni for a duck. Singh is the only spinner to have achieved this feat in the IPL.
5. Dirk Nannes
Dirk Nannes is the only left-arm fast bowler to feature on the list. The left-arm fast bowler has dismissed Dhoni for a duck in the match between DD and CSK in 2010.
6. Shane Watson
The first bowler to dismiss Dhoni for a duck was Shane Watson. He was the lead all-rounder of the Rajasthan Royals, when he dismissed Dhoni in 2010 before he opened his account.
