After a disappointing season in UAE, the men from Chennai will be raring to return back to form. In line with this, the management pulled off a couple of useful moves at the auction. Hence, there will be a few cricketers who will make their CSK debut in IPL 2021. We talk about them in this article.

1. Moeen Ali

The three-time champions invested heavily in English all-rounder Moeen Ali at the IPL 2021 Auctions. CSK needed a real aggressive batsman in the line-up and also required a right-arm off-spinner. In Moeen, the team was getting both, and hence, they went hard for him at the bidding event. While the high price might force CSK to make use of Moeen, in terms of the balance of the XI as well, the former RCB man is rather beneficial and will surely make his debut next season.

2. Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara was a surprise pick by CSK at the auctions. Although many feel he might not get a game, if you look at the current form of some of the players, India’s Test No.3 could actually make his CSK debut in IPL 2021. The likes of Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu are suffering from a lean patch, and if they are dropped, Pujara could come into the picture. MSD is a special captain, and it won’t be a surprise if he extracts a neat T20 player out of a branded Test-match batsman like Pujara.

3. R Sai Kishore

R Sai Kishore is in terrific form at the moment. He was one of the main architects of Tamil Nadu’s SMAT 2021 victory. Hence, the youngster could get a chance at the upcoming campaign. Like how he does for Tamil Nadu, Sai Kishore could bowl during the powerplay for his home-franchise.

4. K Gowtham

K Gowtham was CSK’s costliest player at the auctions. The tall all-rounder is just the kind of a player whom MSD likes. KG is a pure T20 product with some big-hitting skills and fine off-spin abilities in his armoury. If CSK has invested so much in him, they are sure to make use of him. Hence, he is also in line to make the debut for the men in yellow.

5. Harishankar Reddy

Apart from Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar, CSK does not have an established domestic pacer in their ranks. Meanwhile, the team procured the promising Harishankar Reddy at the auctions. The player did well in the recent domestic events. He also seems to be impressing MSD at the nets. Therefore, there is a possibility that he might make his debut.

6. Robin Uthappa

Although CSK has many capped Indian top-order batsman, it is the new recruit Robin Uthappa who is in the best form. Hence, it would be no surprise if he is favoured ahead of Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and Cheteshwar Pujara in the XI. So, it is likely that the player would make his debut for CSK.
