The Sunrisers Hyderabad began their IPL 2021 campaign with a hat-trick of losses. However, the Orange Army did not lose confidence. They crushed the Punjab Kings in their fourth outing, but they have received another bad news, and that is they will have to look for T Natarajan’s replacement because the left-arm fast bowler will no longer play in this season.

According to Cricbuzz, Natarajan’s knee issues will not allow him to play in IPL 2021. It is pertinent to note that the Hyderabad team management had rested him just a few days back. However, now it has come out that SRH will have to sign someone as T Natarajan’s replacement if they wish to do so. Here are the six potential candidates for that role.

6. KB Arun Karthik can become T Natarajan’s replacement

Starting off with a surprising name, KB Arun Karthik is a wicket-keeper. However, T Natarajan bowled left-arm pace, but SRH could sign Karthik now.

The reason is that SRH have many pace-bowling options. They need an Indian middle-order batter, and Karthik was in great touch for Tamil Nadu. Hence, he could be a good replacement.

5. Mohit Sharma

Former IPL Purple Cap winner Mohit Sharma played for the Delhi Capitals in the 2020 IPL. However, DC released him earlier this year.

The right-arm fast bowler went unsold in the auction. However, due to his IPL experience, the Hyderabad-based franchise could consider him as an option for T Natarajan’s replacement.

4. Baba Aparajith

Baba Aparajith is one of the most talented players in the domestic circuit. However, the Tamil Nadu player has not received a single chance to prove himself in the IPL.

Aparajith was in the Chennai Super Kings squad once. He even joined the Rising Pune Supergiant. If SRH want a middle-order batter, Aparajith could be a solid choice.

3. Prithvi Raj Yarra could return to SRH as T Natarajan’s replacement

Last year, Bhuvneshwar Kumar got ruled out of the IPL because of an injury. At that time, the Hyderabad-based franchise went for uncapped pacer Prithvi Raj Yarra as the replacement.

In case you didn’t know, Prithvi is also a left-arm fast bowler. So, he could be a like-for-like replacement if the SRH franchise signs him now.

2. Ganeshan Periyasamy

Ganeshan Periyasamy is another player from Tamil Nadu who could earn a contract from SRH. He had entered the IPL Auction 2021 with a base price of 20 lakh.

Unfortunately, no franchise showed interest in him. However, Hyderabad can sign him because he has a slingy action and he has a lot of variations as well. Some fans even call him the Indian Lasith Malinga. The batsmen could find it tough to tackle him in the tournament.

1. Tushar Deshpande

Tushar Deshpande made his IPL debut last year in the United Arab Emirates. He was a part of the Delhi Capitals team, and even though he was a bit expensive with the ball, he picked up some wickets for the team.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad can sign Deshpande and then use him as a back-up option if they wish to. SRH recently recorded a win without Natarajan in the team. So, it will be interesting to see if they sign a replacement for the left-arm quick.
