    Asia Cup is the top continental championship for the cricketing nations of Asia. It started almost 40 years ago, with India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka being the teams. As the years have passed, the number of teams participating in the mega event have increased as well.

Along with India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, three-time finalists Bangladesh and the ever-improving Afghanistan and Nepal teams will also participate. India have named a star-studded squad for this tournament. Not many fans would remember that the following six names once made it to the Indian squad for this big tournament.

    1. Saurabh Tiwary was in Asia Cup 2010 squad

    Saurabh Tiwary came into the limelight after his performances for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2010. He was in the Indian squad for he mega event in 2010, but he did not get a chance to play.

    2. Manpreet Gony was in Asia Cup 2008 squad

    Manpreet Gony made his debut at the grand stage in 2008. Gony played the only two ODIs of his career during that mega event in Pakistan.

    3. Cheteshwar Pujara was in Asia Cup 2014 squad

    Cheteshwar Pujara is known to be a Test specialist. However, the right-handed batter once made it to the ODI squad picked for the mega event in 2014.

    4. Ishwar Pandey

    Ishwar Pandey never played an international match for India. However, he was present in the Indian ODI squad for the mega event which happened in 2014.

    5. Siddarth Kaul

    Another right-arm fast bowler to feature on the list is Siddarth Kaul. After an impressive showing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018, Kaul made it to the Indian ODI squad for the mega event.

    Pawan Negi was a member of the Indian squad that participated in the first-ever T20 version of the mega event. Negi even made his debut against UAE, but that proved to be his only game.
