    Some cricketers have even preferred playing in IPL over international matches. However, there have also been instances when some well-known players turned down offers from the Indian Premier League franchises. Here’s a list of five such players.

    Veteran England fast bowler James Anderson reportedly received multiple offers from franchises before the 2010 season. However, he skipped the tournament because he wanted to be fit for the subsequent international assignments.

    2. Stuart Broad

    Just like James Anderson, Stuart Broad also received offers from the team owners. However, he showed no interest in signing an IPL deal in 2010. In 2009, he did not accept offers from the franchises to focus on the Ashes.

    3. Ravi Bopara rejected an IPL offer from Mumbai Indians

    England all-rounder Ravi Bopara has been a part of Punjab Kings and SunRisers Hyderabad. But in 2011, he rejected an offer from Mumbai Indians to replace Davy Jacobs in their squad.

    4. Saqib Mahmood turned down an IPL offer

    England fast bowler Saqib Mahmood recently received an offer from a franchise during IPL 2022. He did not name the franchise but Mahmood revealed that he wished to focus on county cricket.

    5. Taskin Ahmed had to reject an IPL contract

    Bangladesh cricket team fast bowler Taskin Ahmed got a golden chance to play for the Lucknow Super Giants in 2022 as a replacement for Mark Wood. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) did not grant him an NOC, thus he had to let go of the offer.

    6. Kusal Perera

    In 2018, David Warner was unavailable to play for SunRisers Hyderabad. So, the Orange Army made an offer to Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera. The left-handed opener reportedly turned hem down to play domestic cricket.
