6 times MS Dhoni proved that he is the Smartest Cricketer ever

Generally, we may feel that cricket as a sport is utterly dependent on the physical abilities of a cricketer. The outer picture of the cricketer reveals that only but the inside image has an entirely different view. Usually, the cricketer’s mindset plays a dominant role in determining whether he will succeed in this field.

This point of view has acquired even more strength after the local boy from Ranchi named Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped into the field for the first time. MS Dhoni has been the one such guy who may seem calm and composed from outside but has lots of brainstorming going on inside in his mind.

Without any doubt, he can surely be regarded as the smartest ever cricketer in history as some of the incidents even act as evidence to it. This article features those seven incidents, which proved that MS Dhoni is the smartest cricketer ever. They are as follows:

6.When he outplayed Kieron Pollard and took the 2nd run.

This incident took place during India vs. West Indies ODI series, where Pollard tried to play a tricky game with MS Dhoni and got an outwitting reply from him. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was at the striker’s end, smashed the ball towards the long-on position where Pollard was fielding. The ball traveled too quickly towards Pollard, so he deliberately threw the ball away from him to get MSD run out.

As soon as Mahi saw this, he ran at full speed and stole the 2nd run, which took the whole Cricketing fraternity with a shock.

5.Made players practice bowl out before the match

Ms Dhoni

The entire credit of the Indian side outwitting the Pakistani team during a bowl out in ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 must go to MS Dhoni for his excellent mind work ahead of the game. As the match ended up in a tie, a bowl out was elected as the decision-maker of that game where India defeated the Pakistani side by 3-0.

Dhoni knew the importance of the rule of bowl out if the match is ended in a tie. Hence he had already asked his teammates to have a net practice of it and be prepared if the situation arises. He even went on with his part-time bowlers, such as Robin Uthappa, Virender Sehwag, and Harbhajan Singh. He had already anticipated that the pitch had the swinging touch, which might create difficulty for the pacers.
