Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been one of the most consistent teams in franchise cricket history. The Chennai-based franchise have won four Indian Premier League trophies and two Champions League T20 titles. MS Dhoni has played a big role in their success.
Apart from that, several players have played match-winning role for this franchise. While MS Dhoni is still a part of the franchise, some of their former star players left the team and then joined other teams. Not all fans would know that the following seven CSK stars once played for these teams.
1. Sudeep Tyagi – Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sudeep Tyagi earned an entry into the Indian team after performing well for Chennai. He did not have a long career, but Tyagi achieved much success with Chennai. In 2013, Tyagi joined Sunrisers Hyderabad.
2. Albie Morkel – Rising Pune Supergiant
Albie Morkel was once the biggest match-winner for Chennai. It looks like MS Dhoni loved his game as he also roped him in Rising Pune Supergiant when he captained RPS in 2016.
3. Subramaniam Badrinath – RCB
Subramaniam Badrinath was the backbone of the CSK batting lineup in multiple seasons. In the last season of his IPL career, Badrinath was a part of the RCB squad.
4. Shadab Jakati – Gujarat Lions
Former Chennai Super Kings spinner Shadab Jakati was an underrated match-winner for the franchise. He played a few matches for Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017.
5. Manpreet Gony – Gujarat Lions
Manpreet Gony was among the best bowlers for Chennai in the 2008 season. During the final phase of his career, he played for the Gujarat Lions.
6. Ben Hilfenhaus – Delhi Daredevils
Ben Hilfenhaus was once the go-to new-ball bowler for Chennai in IPL. The former Australian pacer also joined Delhi Daredevils as a replacement in 2017.
7. Kedar Jadhav – Kochi Tuskers Kerala
Kedar Jadhav was a part of Chennai team during the final phase of his career. The right-handed batter also had a brief stint with Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011.
