While some teenagers registered international hundreds, some of them represented their nation at the ICC T20 World Cup.

1. Mohammad Amir – Most matches by among all teenagers in ICC T20 World Cup history

Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir played 13 matches for his country in the ICC T20 World Cup before turning 18. Amir played in the 2009 and 2010 T20 World Cups, scalping 14 wickets, with his best figures being 3/23. The left-arm pacer won the T20 WC 2009 before turning 18.

2. Rashid Khan

Another Asian cricketer who played in the ICC T20 World Cup as a teenager is Rashid Khan. The right-arm leg-spinner was not even 18 years old when he donned the Afghanistan jersey in the 2016 T20 World Cup. Khan took 11 wickets in seven matches during that tournament.

3. Tamim Iqbal

Tamim Iqbal is the third Asian name to appear on this unique list. The left-handed opener from Bangladesh played in the inaugural T20 World Cup as a teenager. Iqbal scored 56 runs in five matches of the 2007 T20 WC.

4. Ahmed Shehzad

Another Asian cricketer to feature on this list is Ahmed Shehzad. The right-handed opener won the 2009 T20 WC with Pakistan before turning 18. He played only one match in the tournament, scoring four runs.

5. Paul Stirling – 1st Non-Asian player among teenagers to have played in ICC T20 World Cup

Among all teenagers to have participated in the ICC T20 World Cup, Paul Stirling was the first player born outside Asia. He played for Ireland in the 2009 T20 World Cup as a teenager and scored 17 runs in one match.
