Ashish Nehra became the first Indian to win the Indian Premier League trophy as a head coach of a franchise. Playing the role of a head coach for the new Gujarat Titans team, Nehra inspired the Ahmedabad-based franchise to their maiden trophy in their debut season itself.
Nehra loves to keep things simple. He was rarely spotted with a laptop during team meetings. The former Indian fast bowler sat with a pen and paper during the matches, noting down some important points for the players. He also did not have any special energy drinks, but preferred to have coconut water.
A Twitter user recently shared another stat that proves how Nehra loves simplicity in life. The Gujarat Titans head coach has a verified Instagram account, but he has never posted anything on the social media platform. Many fans would remember that Nehra revealed he used a keypad phone for a long time in his life.

Gujarat Titans did not have too many big names in their squad. Their team featured match-winners and rising stars who were keen to prove themselves. One of the new players who made his debut for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 was left-arm fast bowler Yash Dayal.
Yash was signed for a big price at the mega auction, and he justified his price tag with his wicket-taking abilities. In a recent interview with India News, Yash shared his experience of working with Nehra and said:
“I would only like to say that Ashish Sir is like a blessing for me, he is like a fatherly figure. Ashish Sir’s talks had so much effect on me, when other people used to see me and him talk, they used to say that Ashish Sir sees himself in me, when he was young.”
