The third season of the Lanka Premier League will start on July 31. Five teams, namely Kandy Falcons, Jaffna Kings, Colombo Stars, Dambulla Giants and Galle Gladiators will play in this year’s LPL. Multiple Indian players participated in the inaugural LPL season, but not a single Indian cricketer will participate in this year’s LPL.
However, the five franchises have signed several big names at the LPL 2022 Draft. The draft happened on July 5, with players from several parts of the world earning contracts from the five teams. The maximum price for a player was 60,000 USD (approximately 47.47 lakh INR).

1. Kandy Falcons signed Wanindu Hasaranga for 47.47 lakh in Lanka Premier League
Royal Challengers Bangalore broke the bank and signed Wanindu Hasaranga for 10.75 crore at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Hasaranga was the best bowler for RCB this season. He will now turn up for Kandy Falcons, who signed him for 47.47 lakh for LPL 2022.
2. Kandy Falcons signed Dewald Brevis for 19.78 lakh in Lanka Premier League
Another big name signed by Kandy Falcons this year is Dewald Brevis. They drafted him for 19.78 lakh INR, which is way less than his IPL salary of INR 3 crore. Mumbai Indians fought an intense bidding war to sign Brevis at the auction.
3. Evin Lewis
West Indies star Evin Lewis received a contract worth 2 crore from Lucknow Super Giants at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. In LPL, Jaffna Kings signed him for INR 47.47 lakh.
4. Dominic Drakes
Another Caribbean player to feature on the list is Dominic Drakes. Gujarat Titans paid him 1.10 crore in IPL 2022, while in LPL 2022, he will earn 31.65 lakh from the Colombo Stars.
