Chennai Super Kings had to endure a tough campaign in IPL 2025. However, the squad is shaping up well to perform better in the coming seasons. It will be interesting to see if MS Dhoni retires or not. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players that CSK could shockingly release before the next season.
While CSK must focus on hiring fresh talent, they should also ensure that some of the existing cricketers are shown the way on time. For a few cricketers, the time might be over at CSK and shockingly so.
1) Rachin Ravindra
It has to do more with the fact that CSK does not have a role for Rachin on the side. The likes of Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel will now take up a role in the top-order. If CSK really needs a top-order foreign batter, they might go after the likes of Ben Duckett or Cameron Green.
2) Devon Conway is one of the cricketers CSK could shockingly release
Devon Conway won the trophy a few years ago. He is rated highly within the squad. However, it was a poor outing for him in IPL 2025. Also, the franchise might not afford a role for him as an opener. In this regard, CSK might release the Kiwi to free up some funds.
3) Sam Curran
Sam Curran did well at No.3 in the last few matches. The franchise, though, might see Urvil Patel better suited to the role. CSK might rather free up the purse and go hard for someone like Cameron Green of Ben Stokes, who offer better stability in at least one department.
