Chennai Super Kings will have a tough job to replace Ravindra Jadeja, the spinner. He has been useful in the last decade or so, and it could be hard for CSK to find his replacement. Here, we take a look at the list of three realistic options CSK can target to replace Ravindra Jadeja as the domestic spinner.
Note: We have selected players who are likely to be released by their current teams before the upcoming IPL 2026 Auctions.
1) Ravi Bishnoi
Ravi was in poor form last season. He was a retained player, and he had to do a better job. Now, LSG has found Digvesh Rathi, who took over from Ravi as the lead spinner of the side. The pitch at EKANA has also changed and there might not be a need for two spinners, especially if one is expensive. Hence, Ravi could be released and CSK can eye him.
2) Rahul Chahar is one of the realistic options CSK can target to replace Ravindra Jadeja as the domestic spinner
Many felt Rahul Chahar would play a lot of games for SRH. However, that did not happen. He hardly played. Zeeshan Ansari, a debutant, played more games in the season. It is inevitable that SRH releases him. CSK can use him as a decent choice to bowl alongside Noor Ahmed. He has the experience to turn around his career at the Chepauk.
3) Shahbaz Ahmed
He would be a like-for-like replacement for Jadeja. His form is not great, but he has the skills to do well. In the past, he has changed games with the bat and the ball. Hence, CSK can target him if they do not get other options. Since CSK now has a top-order filled with right-handers, for specific matchups, he could also be an option to be promoted up the order.
