In the past, as well, the management has made some changes just before the start of a mega event. Usually, such decisions arise due to form or fitness issues. Even fitness issue for a completely different player could make the management change the entire combination.

    1) Jitesh Sharma

Jitesh Sharma’s exclusion was a big surprise as he was the lead keeper for India in the last few tournaments. Rinku Singh will be the finisher and if the UP lad does not do well, Jitesh still has a chance to get into the squad as a specialist batter. Hence, Jitesh must keep performing wherever he gets a chance.

    2) Shubman Gill is one of the players who could still get a spot in the Indian 2026 T20 WC Squad

It is a bold call but if Shubman returns well from injury, anything is possible. He is a quality cricketer and since the event is happening in the subcontinent, Gill will always be an asset.

    3) Yashasvi Jaiswal

Not long ago, Jaiswal was the first opener on the team sheet for India in T20Is. However, he is not in the squad anymore. Ishan Kishan is there as the backup opener and wicket-keeper. That said, if Ishan does not show good form and if the others are also failing, the management could bank on the talent of Yashasvi.
