The second match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the two nations happened at the National Stadium in Karachi, where Pakistan pulled off a draw against Australia despite conceding a massive first innings lead.
The Australian cricket team won the toss and elected to bat first at the National Stadium in Karachi. The decision worked in the visiting side’s favor as a magnificent century from their opening batter Usman Khawaja guided the Aussies to a score of 556/9 in the first innings. Mitchell Starc then took three wickets with his fiery pace as Australia bowled out the Pakistan cricket team for just 148 runs.
Many members of the cricket universe felt that the Australian cricket team would enforce a follow-on on the Pakistan cricket team. However, Pat Cummins decided against doing the same. He decided to bat again, and the Australian side added 97 runs to their lead before declaring the innings.
Chasing a huge target of 506 runs to register a historic win in Karachi, the Pakistan cricket team crossed the 400-run mark. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam scored a century each for the Pakistan cricket team as they inched closer to the target. However, in the end, the match ended in a stalemate.
