Cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra regularly provides verdicts on his YouTube channel. He makes headlines almost every day for his out-of-the-box suggestions and tips. Once again, he has come out with a different opinion and vision for Team India.

As per Chopra, the Men in Blue should drop a spinner to accommodate one additional pacer in the squad for the T20 World Cup. He feels that India should add a name who has good pace like Mohammed Shami and another who is capable of swinging the ball like Deepak Chahar. It is universally known that Australian pitches assist pacers more than spinners.

He went on to say that the changes should be made before the 15th of October as no permission is required to make changes to the squad. Once the date is passed, they will need to get a nod from the ICC, which usually allows any changes only in case of an injury.

“India must add two fast bowlers to the squad for the World Cup. One should be someone who has speed and he is Mohammad Shami. The other bowler should be someone who has swing and he is Deepak Chahar. Take five fast bowlers, exclude one spinner, as the matches will be in Australia where pitches assist pace bowling rather than spin. You needn’t take any permission for changes to the squad till 15th October.” said Aakash Chopra.

Rohit Sharma-led side have a couple of decisions to make before their tournament opener against arch-rivals Pakistan. They need to see who can walk into the XI in place of ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who is ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury. Apart from that, they also have to pick one between Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik for the middle-order role. Ravi Ashwin or Yuzvendra Chahal, who should be the prime spinner is another dilemma for the Indian team.
