In a recent interview with Sportskeeda Cricket, Sheldon Jackson opened up on his experience with the selectors. He said that when asked about the reason why he has been ignored for so long, he received an answer that they are not picking any new players aged above 30, but as per Jackson, the selectors soon picked a player aged around 31 or 32 in the team.

“They told me that above 30, we are not picking anyone. But ultimately, after a year, they picked someone who was around 32-33. I was very vocal that is there any law that once you’re above 30, 35 or even 40 you cannot get picked? Then why don’t you come out with a law itself?”

Sheldon Jackson recently played for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022

In the recently-concluded Indian Premier League season, Sheldon Jackson turned up for the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise. He got a few opportunities to showcase his talent, but he could not cement his place in the playing XI of the team.

Jackson was impressive behind the stumps, but he could not impress much with the willow. As a result, the Kolkata-based franchise tried out some other options in the playing XI. It will be interesting to see if the Kolkata-based franchise retain Jackson for the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League.

As far as Jackson’s international career is concerned, it will be interesting to see if he receives his maiden national cap in the near future.
