The Royal Challengers Bangalore star bagged 3 wickets in the first Test match of the ICC World Test Championship series against the South African cricket team. Apart from taking three South African wickets, he also bowled 8 maiden overs and built pressure on the opposition.

Mohammed Siraj’s aggression was on display during the Test match. In the 2nd innings of the Test, Siraj bowled a full delivery to South African batter Temba Bavuma in the 61st over.

The South African batter blocked the delivery and it went straight back to the Indian fast bowler. While the South African batters did not attempt a run, Siraj had a misunderstanding and he fired the ball straight towards the striker’s end. It brutally hit Bavuma on his leg, and he needed assistance from the physio.

You are a little bit aggressive; you’ve gotten a bit carried away: Sunil Gavaskar comments on Mohammed Siraj-Temba Bavuma incident

Speaking on Star Sports, 1983 World Cup winner Sunil Gavaskar gave his views on the incident involving Siraj and Temba Bavuma. Here’s what the former Indian batter had to say:

“There was no attempt to take the run. You are a little bit aggressive; you’ve gotten a bit carried away. But if there was an attempt to run, it would have been understandable. He’s there. He didn’t take the run. There was no need, absolutely no need for that. Siraj should be spoken to.”
