Siddharth Kaul will don the Royal Challengers Bangalore jersey for the first time in the Indian Premier League. The right-arm pacer went unsold in the first round of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, but RCB signed him in the round of unsold players. Kaul will reunite with his former India U-19 captain Virat Kohli and play for RCB in 2022.

While Kaul is excited to reunite with Kohli and play for a new franchise, he was naturally disappointed when he did not receive a contract in the first round. Kaul has been a wicket-taking bowler in the IPL. He performed well for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and then even played international cricket at the senior level.

The right-arm fast bowler is no longer a part of the Indian squads, but he has been doing well in domestic cricket for Punjab. Reacting to how he did not receive any bids at the IPL Mega Auction 2022 during the first round, Siddharth Kaul told Sportskeeda:

“The feeling is no different, it’s not great. After doing so much good work in IPL and domestic tournaments, you feel sad when you are not picked. But that said, I would like to express my thanks to the RCB support staff who believe in my skills and handing me an opportunity.”

Siddharth Kaul once held the Purple Cap in the Indian Premier League

As mentioned ahead, Kaul was a phenomenal performer for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018-19. At one point during the tournament, he even held the prestigious Purple Cap as he had taken the most number of wickets at that time during the competition.

Kaul will look forward to emerging as a match-winner for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. He will partner with the likes of Jason Behrendorff, Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel in the RCB pace attack.
