Hanuma Vihari is one of the multiple capped Indian cricketers who failed to earn a contract at the IPL Mega Auction 2022 which happened in February. Like many unsold players, Vihari has decided to utilize this time off the field to work on his game. The right-handed batter signed up with Dhaka Premier League team Abahani Limited for the 2022 season.
Vihari has done a fantastic job for his team so far as he has scored a match-winning 100 for Abahani Limited in the match against Brothers Union. In the 31st match of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, the Brothers Union lost the toss and received an invitation to bat first.
Captain Mohammad Ashraful got out for a duck as Brother Union did not get off to the best start. A half-century from number four batter Minhajul Abedin guided the team to a competitive score of 219. Brothers Union were all out for 219 runs in 48.3 overs. Tanzim Hasan Sakib was adjudged the Man of the Match for his five-wicket haul.
Chasing 220 runs to win the match, Abahani Limited lost the wickets of their two openers Mohammad Naim and Jaker Ali in quick succession. Even number four batter Hridoy was dismissed in single digits. Experienced Indian batter Hanuma Vihari stabilized the innings with captain Mosaddek Hossain.

Vihari and Hossain added 120 runs for the fourth wicket and helped Abahani Limited inch closer to the target. While Mosaddek lost his wicket, Afif Hossain and Vihari guided the team home with 11.1 overs to spare.
Hanuma scored 112 off 115 balls, smashing 11 fours and one six. He batted at a strike rate of 97.39. It will be interesting to see if Vihari can help Abahani Limited win the Dhaka Premier League trophy in 2022.
