Apart from Hanuma Vihari, the six other names to join the DPL teams are Ashok Menaria, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Parvez Rasool, Baba Aparajith, Chirag Jani and Gurinder Singh. Fans should note that Vihari has previously played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Delhi Capitals in the IPL. Meanwhile, Menaria once represented Rajasthan Royals, and Aparajith was a member of the Chennai Super Kings team.

Jammu and Kashmir all-rounder Parvez Rasool has earned contracts from Pune Warriors, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore in his IPL career. Rasool also has the experience of playing in the Dhaka Premier League, having played in the tournament during the 2019-20 season.

According to ESPNCricinfo, Hanuma Vihari will head home for a few days after the ICC World Test Championship series against the Sri Lankan cricket team. He will then board a flight to Bangladesh and play for Abahani Limited. Vihari will miss three matches of DPL 2022. Afghanistan batter Najibullah Zadran will play as a replacement for Vihari in the first three games.

Hanuma Vihari recently played well for India in the number three position

The team management dropped Cheteshwar Pujara from the Test squad ahead of the ICC World Test Championship series against the Sri Lankan cricket team. In his absence, Hanuma Vihari batted at number three and performed well.

Both Vihari and Pujara went unsold at the IPL 2022 Auction. While Vihari will head to Bangladesh to play in the Dhaka Premier League, Pujara will take a flight to the UK for a stint with Sussex in county cricket.
