Ajay Jadeja reacts to Hanuma Vihari being dropped from Test series against New Zealand

Indian cricket team is set to play 2 match Test series against the New Zealand team from 25th of November onwards. And before that, former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has raised questions of selectors not preferring Hanuma Vihari for the series.

The whole story began when the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand was announced. And surprisingly enough, Hanuma Vihari was dropped from the team, which led to many fans questioning the selectors.

Later, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Hanuma Vihari has been added to India ‘A’ for the upcoming South Africa series.

Ajay Jadeja questions selectors for excluding Hanuma Vihari

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Ajay Jadeja questioned the selectors for not choosing Hanuma Vihari. Jadeja stated that Vihari is poor guy, even doing so well for Indian cricket team, he has been dropped.

Jadeja then questioned the selectors saying what has Hanuma done wrong and why should he go to India A tour and can’t play at home.

A portion of his statement reads, “Vihari, poor guy. He did well. He has been with Indian cricket for a while, done well. What has he done wrong? Why should he go to India A tour, why can’t he play a Test match at home?”

He further added that somebody who has been with the team for long and now going to play for India A, while someone new will come in, and that is basically playing with people’s mind.

The Indian cricket team is scheduled to play South Africa in away series following the home Test series against New Zealand. And before that, India is sending A team to tour South Africa.

India tour of South Africa

The India A team, under the leadership of Priyank Panchal, will play South Africa A in a 3 four-day unofficial matches, starting from the 23rd of November.

The 3 matches will be played from 23rd November till 9th of December. After which, the Indian senior team will travel to South Africa for the 3 Test matches, 3 One Day Internationals (ODI) and 4 T20 Internationals (T20I), starting from 17th of December. The series will end with the last match on 26th January.
