Speaking about the Test match between the England cricket team and the New Zealand cricket team, the visitors won the toss at the Lord’s Cricket Ground and decided to bat first. The decision did not work in their favor as James Anderson and debutant Matty Potts wreaked havoc in London. Both pacers accounted for four wickets each as England bowled New Zealand out for 132 runs.

In reply, England posted a 141-run total on the board. Zak Crawley scored 43 runs at the top for the English team. Tim Southee took a four-wicket haul for the Blackcaps. Trailing by nine runs, New Zealand rode on a fantastic partnership between Tom Blundell and Daryl Mitchell to set a 277-run target for England.
