West Indian test captain Kraigg Brathwaite and all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite have the same surname. So are they brothers in real life? However, both superstars have confirmed that there is no such relationship between them. Though these two cricketers might not have any family relationships with each other, they know each other quite well. Both first met at Combermere School in Barbados as teenagers.

That school has given many cricket stars to the country. The English veteran pacer Chris Jordan also attended the same school in Barbados. Kraigg was four years younger than Carlos, but both used to play at the same nets at school. In one of his interviews, the West Indies test captain also revealed that once he attended the practice session of seniors and faced Carlos at the nets.

The all-rounder welcomed him with some vicious bouncers, but that experience helped him a lot. Not many would know that pop star Rihanna also went to the same school and knew Kraigg pretty well. Kraigg revealed that Rihanna helped him many times when he was bullied by his classmates.

Carlos also revealed that he knew Rihanna through his school. Both superstars were born in Bridgetown, and just like any cricketer, they started playing the game on the streets. Kraigg’s father and mother are Chesterfield Brathwaite and Joycelyn Braithwaite. His father encouraged him a lot in his early days.

He has two sisters, Banjakim and Krystol Campbell. Kraigg is currently the best test batter for the West Indies and the captain of the team, whereas Carlos represented the country in August 2019 and hasn’t played any games since then. Everyone remembers him for his four consecutive sixes off Ben Stokes in the final of the 2016 T20 World Cup to help his team win the tournament.
