The 2022 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League is currently underway in Bangladesh. The league has grabbed the headlines so far for two reasons. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has now come up with a unique solution to the umpiring howlers. The committee is calling it the Alternative DRS system (ADRS). Normally, there is a Decision Review System (DRS) in cricket which helps the players challenge the decisions made by the on-field umpires. However, BCB has now come up with an ADRS which is new to the fans.
A report by local publication Daily Star states: “The Chattogram leg of the BPL got underway today with the match between Chattogram Challengers and Khulna Tigers where the new system came into effect. The committee are calling the new system ADRS or Alternate Decision Review system.”
Many star players are currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League. Some of the biggest names of world cricket like Shakib Al Hasan, DJ Bravo, Faf du Plessis, Chris Gayle and Moeen Ali are in the tournament.
Comilla Victorians are undefeated in Bangladesh Premier League
Faf du Plessis’ team Comilla Victorians are currently number one in the Bangladesh Premier League with two wins in two matches. Even Moeen Ali is a part of the squad, whereas Minister Group Dhaka is in the last position with three defeats from three outings.
It will be interesting to see which team wins the 2022 edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. Fortune Barishal looked the strongest on paper because they have the likes of Chris Gayle and Shakib Al Hasan in the team. So far in the tournament, Fortune Barishal have played three games, recording one win and two defeats.
