Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra hopes that the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore make one change each for their upcoming matches in IPL 2022. Chopra, who is a member of the Hindi commentary panel for Star Sports and also a popular YouTuber, expects Virat Kohli to open the innings for the Bangalore-based franchise.

In this year’s IPL so far, Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat have opened the innings for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. While du Plessis has played a couple of big knocks for his new franchise, Rawat has won one match for the team as well. However, in the recent games, Rawat has not been able to provide a good start to RCB.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has registered twin golden ducks while batting in the number three position. Dushmantha Chameera dismissed him on the first ball when the Bangalore-based franchise locked horns with the Lucknow Super Giants. Later in the season, Kohli got out on the first ball bowled by Marco Jansen when playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Aakash Chopra thinks Mumbai Indians should drop Ishan Kishan for one or two matches

In the same tweet, Aakash Chopra added that Mumbai Indians should considering dropping out-of-form player Ishan Kishan for one or two matches. They could try a new opening combination because Kishan has been out of touch after scoring a fifty against the Delhi Capitals.

Here’s what Chopra tweeted:

“Two changes look imminent—Kohli opening the innings. Ishan getting benched for a game or two. Genuinely feel for both of them. Hope they get back on track. Soon.”

It will be interesting to see whether MI and RCB make the change suggested by Chopra.
