There were questions raised regarding the IPL matches in Chennai. People from various groups in the state expressed their unhappiness for Chennai hosting IPL matches as there is already a serious issue with regard to river Cauvery.
They either wanted fans to boycott the matches to be played in Chennai or to move IPL out of the state. It is already well known that there was not any IPL actions in the state for the past 2 years.
At this point of time,Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) has made it clear that there won’t be any change in the planned schedule and the matches will take place at Chepauk as planned earlier.
According to sources of NDTV it is said that, Cauvery issue is not new and there is no reason to change decisions taken a long while back. The first of the 7 matches to be hosted in Chennai is to be played on 10th April.
