Former Delhi Capitals leg-spinner Amit Mishra has opined that the Chennai Super Kings are missing their former player Suresh Raina in the field. This year, the Chennai-based franchise have dropped quite a few catches while playing against opponent teams in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
In the last few seasons, the Chennai Super Kings had fielders like Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis who had the safest pair of hands in the business. It was rare to see the Chennai-based franchise dropping any catches, but this year has not been the same.
Even in today’s match between the Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab Kings, fans saw that the CSK fielders dropped some catches. Looking at the fielding performance of the Super Kings in IPL 2022, Amit Mishra took to Twitter and wrote:

Why is Suresh Raina not playing for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022?
Chennai Super Kings surprisingly released Raina ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. They did not even bid for him at the auction as the left-handed batter went unsold for the first time in his Indian Premier League. Raina did not receive a contract as a replacement from any of the 10 franchises as well.
Soon after, Star Sports announced that Suresh was one of the members of the Hindi commentary panel. He has been working as a commentator for Star Sports in IPL 2022. It will be interesting to see if he makes a comeback in the next season.
