    On this day in 2010, Chennai Super Kings became the first team to win the CLT20 and IPL in the same year. They entered the Champions League T20 after winning the 2010 edition of the Indian Premier League. Nine other franchises, namely Wayamba XI, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chevrolet Warriors, Guyana, South Australia Redbacks, Victoria Bushrangers, Central Districts Stags and Highveld Lions participated in the competition.

    Batters – MS Dhoni (c), Srikkanth Anirudha, S Badrinath, Matthew Hayden, Michael Hussey, Suresh Raina and Murali Vijay

    MS Dhoni captained the side. He is still the captain of the Chennai Super Kings. All the batters have retired from international cricket now. Raina, Vijay and Badrinath are still active in leagues of retired cricketers. Hussey works as batting coach of CSK, while Hayden works as a cricket expert.

    All Rounders of CSK in CLT20 2010 – R Ashwin, Joginder Sharma, Justin Kemp and Albie Morkel

    CSK have always been a team that has been reliant on the all-rounders. In the 2010 Champions League T20, Chennai picked four all-rounders, namely Ashwin, Sharma, Kemp and Morkel. Ashwin is a part of India’s squad in all three formats. He plays for RR in IPL now. The other three players have retired now.

    Sharma works for Haryana Police. Morkel has been working as a coach for Namibia and Joburg Super Kings. Kemp plays in Road Safety World Series.

    Bowlers – L Balaji, Doug Bollinger, Shadab Jakati and M Muralitharan

    Lakshmipathy Balaji and Doug Bollinger were the lead pacers of CSK in the tournament. Balaji is the fast-bowling coach of CSK. Bollinger has retired and moved away from cricket. Jakati and Muralitharan were the lead spinners. They have retired as well. Muralitharan plays in Legends League and works as bowling coach for SRH in IPL.
