“Don’t come up wearing the yellow jersey”: Dinesh Karthik’s request to CSK fans ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023

The year 2023 is a very special year for the cricket fans all-together, but especially for the Indian cricket team fans as India is set to host the ICC Cricket ODI World Cup 2023 in India since after the last in 2011, the year when the Indian team won the whole thing.

After a long wait for the fans, the schedule for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 was released just recently when only 100 day were remaining for the start of the global mega event.

The tournament will start on the 5th of October in Ahmedabad with defending champions England taking on the last time’s finalists New Zealand from 2 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

As for the Indian cricket team, the Men in Blue will begin their campaign on the 8th October with Rohit Sharma led India taking on the Australian team in their opening match to be played in Chennai.

Meanwhile, speaking about this match, Indian wicketkeeper batsman and former Tamil Nadu captain Dinesh Karthik has sent out a special message to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans.

Karthik has urged all the Chennai Super Kings fans not attend the India vs Australia ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match wearing any kinds of yellow jersey (CSK yellow jersey) since Australia also wears the yellow colour jersey.

Dinesh Karthik, who participated in a private event, said, “CSK wears a yellow jersey. Australia wears a yellow jersey. So India vs Australia to be held in Chennai, so please don’t turn up for the ODI World Cup with the yellow jersey. Come with our blue jersey” he said jokingly.

The Indian cricket team is currently preparing for the ODI World Cup 2023 with the Rohit Sharma captained side set to play West Indies in a multi-format series, including 3 ODI matches. After that, the Men in Blue will also take part in the Asia Cup 2023 to be played in 50 format this year due to the 50 overs World Cup.

Other than Australia, India will also take on the Pakistan cricket team on the 15th of October in Ahmedabad, New Zealand on the 22nd October in Dharamshala and defending champions England on the 29th of October in Lucknow among some of the notable matches. They will also play against South Africa on the 5th of November in Kolkata.
