Following the conclusion of the league phase of the T20 World Cup 2021, former cricketer Simon Doull as well as former Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has selected their respective team of the tournament for the 2021 T20 World Cup.
Dinesh Karthik’s team was loaded with top spinners, with 3 varying types of spin bowlers made it up to the playing XI. He picked Babar Azam to captain the team, with just 1 Indian getting selected, and that is Jasprit Bumrah.
Dinesh Karthik, who picked the team during a show on Cricbuzz, stated that beside his playing XI, he would have liked Eoin Morgan in the team as a captain, note the fact that Morgan captained KKR in IPL 2021, in which Dinesh Karthik was also playing for, but due to much contribution with the bat, he opted to with Babar Azam as the skipper.
He also praised South African batsman Rassie Van Der Dussen, who played an impressive innings of 94 runs of 60 balls to guide South Africa to victory over England in their last Super 12 match, however, South Africa have failed to qualify for the semi-finals because of Net Run Rate (NRR).
He also said that this tournament was dominated by the bowlers and praised Adam Zampa and Shaheen Afridi for their respective performance for their respective team.

As for Simon Doull, he went ahead with the same top-order but changed the middle order with the inclusion of Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali and Aiden Markram. Other than that, he also brought in Josh Hazlewood and Haris Rauf in his bowling department to add alongside Trent Boult from DK’s team.
