"Disheartened to Hear"- Suresh Raina's heartfelt reaction on the demise of his "Superfan Vignesh"

Indian fans are certainly among the best cricket fans across the globe. The level of passion and love that the Indian players get is just unmatchable. It would not be a wrong statement to say that fans are the best part of the game. Because they support the player in tough times as well. Over the years, we have seen many devoted fans of players like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, and many more.

Former Indian batsman, Suresh Raina, was also lucky to have had such a devoted fan base in India. In particular, while playing in the IPL for the four-time champions, Chennai Super Kings, he gained such immense popularity that Chennai became his second home. One such superfan was Vignesh, who always came to support Raina and CSK in their every match.

He was always at the stand, with complete yellow paint on his body and the name of Raina written on his front and back. But the sad news for the Southpaw and their fans is that they have lost one of their most loyal fans. He has been suffering from illness for the last few months. And after a long battle, he lost the fight.

The news of his demise was shared by a CSK fan group on their Twitter account. Notably, the tweet itself was later retweeted by Suresh Raina with a heartfelt message. The southpaw shared retweeted, “This is such a shocking news. So disheartened to hear about Vigensh’s demise. He was a wonderful human being & forever a super fan. May you rest in peace Vignesh. My deepest condolences to the family.”

Without a doubt, Vignesh was one of the most devoted fans of Suresh Raina, CSK, and Team India. The southpaw, who spent the majority of his career with the Chennai Super Kings, was not retained ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. Later, he also went unsold in the auction, and CSK didn’t bid for him. That was a shocking decision by the franchise because Raina was their highest run-getter in history.
