At the toss, Hardik Pandya informed that injuries forced him to make two changes to his playing XI. He had to leave out the duo of Vijay Shankar and Varun Aaron because of injury issues. While Shankar had back spasms, Aaron had picked up a groin injury which forced him to bowl only one over in the previous match against the Delhi Capitals.

Here’s what Pandya mentioned about the changes in the playing XI at the toss:

I’ll be modest. It’s been alright: Hardik Pandya comments on Gujarat Titans’ IPL 2022 performance

Gujarat Titans have won two out of the two matches that they have played in IPL 2022. Not many fans gave them a chance when the season began, but the Titans are the only team in the competition right now to have a 100% win record. Speaking on his team’s performance at the toss, Hardik said:

“I’ll be modest. It’s been alright. We have had some good games. The boys have shown good courage throughout.”

The Gujarat Titans have got off to an impressive start against the Punjab Kings as they have picked up two wickets in the first five overs. Hardik won the battle of the captains and sent Mayank Agarwal to the dressing room on the last ball of his first over, while Lockie Ferguson’s extra pace dismissed Jonny Bairstow. It will be interesting to see if they can complete a hat-trick of wins.
