India will host the entire tournament and play their first match on October 8 against Australia in Chennai. The ten teams participating in the tournament are the best in the world at the moment, and it will be an exciting tournament where anyone can lift the title.

All the teams are looking pretty strong to win the title, and it is very hard to predict a winner. But with the tournament about to start, the predictions have started, and many former cricketers have predicted their top four, finalists, and even the winner.

Former South African star Hashim Amla is the latest player to predict the four semi-finalists in the coming tournament. In a recent interview with iol.com.za, Amla picked India, Pakistan, South Africa, and England as the top four favorites for the tournament.

Amla said, “I’ll go with India, Pakistan, South Africa, and England.” South Africa is infamous for its “chockers” tag. However, Amla suggested that the Proteas will have to ignore the noise outside and focus on the tournament. South Africa will open its campaign on October 7 against Sri Lanka. Temba Bavuma will be leading the side in the tournament.

Though it was surprising that Amla didn’t pick Australia as one of his top four. They are the five-time world champions. On the other hand, Team India will look to end their trophy drought with the title at home. They won it last time in 2011, when MS Dhoni was the captain. India hasn’t won an ICC tournament since 2013, when they won the Champions Trophy.
