“He has another 6-7 years left”- Dilip Vengsarkar feels Virat Kohli can play till age of 40

Former Indian captain Dilip Vengsarkar has opined that the current Indian cricket team star Virat Kohli still has six to seven years of cricket left in him. Kohli is 33 right now, so as per Vengsarkar, he can continue playing till the age of 40.

It is not surprising to hear this from a respected Indian cricketer because Kohli has maintained his fitness very well. However, some fans started to question his place after a dip in his form. The cricket universe should not that even though Kohli has not scored a century since November 2019, he has played many important knocks for the nation. It is not that he is getting out in single digits.

Speaking to Sportskeeda ahead of Kohli’s 100th Test match, Dilip Vengsarkar made a prediction about Kohli and said:

“It depends on his motivational level. If he can keep his motivation and fitness intact, I’m sure he can play international cricket for another six to seven years.”

The former Indian captain further added that Kohli is a very experienced player who knows how to manage his workload. So, he left the decision about his future to the player himself.

“Virat is an experienced player who knows how to manage his workload. He’s good in all formats of the game, so I’ll leave it to him,” the 1983 World Cup winner concluded.

Virat Kohli is currently playing the 100th Test match of his international career for the Indian cricket team. New captain Rohit Sharma is leading the Indian cricket team in the first match of the ICC World Test Championship series against the Sri Lankan cricket team. The match started earlier today at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium.
