The captain led the franchise from the front by scalping wickets regularly and also chipping in with some important runs whenever needed.

The left-arm fast bowler is now all set to play for the Pakistan cricket team in their home ICC World Test Championship series against the Australian cricket team from tomorrow. Ahead of the series against Australia, Lahore coach Aaqib Javed heaped praise on Shaheen Afridi. Here’s what he was quoted as saying on Samaa News:

Shaheen Afridi became the youngest captain to win a T20 franchise league

Many great players like MS Dhoni, Shane Warne, Rohit Sharma, Adam Gilchrist, David Warner, Gautam Gambhir and others can call themselves T20 franchise league winning skippers. Shaheen Afridi joined that elite group recently by helping the Lahore Qalandars win the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League.

The Qalandars battled the defending champions Multan Sultans in the final match. Fans expected a close match, but Lahore dominated Multan and won their first PSL title on their home turf. The franchise will be keen to defend the championship successfully in PSL 2023.
