This will be followed by the second game at the Port of Spain, Trinidad, starting on July 20. This series will be important for Rohit Sharma and his team to start well in the next WTC cycle. Though they will enter the first game as favorites, they can’t write off the West Indies in their own conditions.

Meanwhile, the upcoming test series will be broadcast on the Jio Cinema app and website, and fans can also watch it on the FanCode app and its website. Live telecast will be broadcast on Doordarshan Sports (DD Sports) on free cable networks (not on DTH).

The list of commentators was revealed ahead of the first game, and it saw some new faces, including Ishant Sharma, making his debut on the commentary panel. The 34-year-old pacer will be seen alongside Zaheer Khan. Though Ishant hasn’t retired, he has not played any games since 2021.

The commentary panel for the upcoming test series will also include the likes of Wasim Jaffer, Aakash Chopra, Saba Karim, and Abhinav Mukund. Both teams are going through a transition. The West Indies, who are going through a decline in international cricket, are looking to do well.

On the other hand, India, which dropped some veterans and is missing some key players due to injuries, is searching for an ideal back-up for the future. India dropped Cheteshwar Pujara and picked up Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad in the team. Earlier, in the press conference on the eve of the first test, the Indian skipper confirmed that Jaiswal will make his debut and will open the inning, while Shubman Gill will bat at No. 3.
